New Book Features Questionmark AuthorsSTAMFORD, CT – November 9, 2005 – Questionmark President Eric Shepherd and company Chairman John Kleeman are among the authors featured in a new book that offers suggestions and advice from experts in the field of online assessment and measurement. Online Assessment and Measurement; Foundations and Challenges, recently released by Information Science Publishing, was edited by Mary Hricko of Kent State University and Scott L. Howell of Brigham Young University. The book begins with chapters that define online and assessment and measurement, then explores best practices in assessment design and the challenges involved in the design, development and delivery of assessments. The final section of the book examines issues surrounding security, authentication and support. Shepherd and Kleeman co-wrote a chapter on "Delivering Computerized Assessments Safely and Securely," which provides a methodology for assessment the security requirements for delivering computer-based assessments and explains the various security methods available. Another chapter, contributed by Shepherd, is a primer on industry standards, describing the process by which standards are formulated and the organizations that create them.
